Prevent changes to hardware profiles settings (For All Users).

With this setting you can prevent changes to hardware profiles settings using the “Display” system icon in Control Panel.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me
You can prevent changes to the default hardware profiles settings using the “Display” system icon from the current applets list displayed in the Control Panel. This can be done by hiding the tab “Hardware Profiles” from the “System Properties” dialog box.

The “Hardware Profiles” tab enables to set up and store different hardware configurations. At startup, you can choose the profile you want to use.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\System” does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value “NoConfigPage” at both the HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry paths.

Now, right-click and modify their values to “1” which can prevent changes to hardware profiles settings. However, if you want to enable the tab, change the value data to “0” or delete the added values.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
