Prevent changes to virtual memory settings (For All Users).

With this setting you can prevent changes to the default virtual memory settings using the “Display” system icon in Control Panel.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me
You can prevent changes to the default virtual memory settings using the “Display” system icon from the current applets list displayed in the Control Panel. This can be done by hiding the “Virtual Memory” button from the “System Properties” dialog box.

The “Virtual Memory” button enables you to change the default virtual memory settings of your system. The virtual memory is a method that expands the apparent size of the Random Access Memory (RAM) by taking some space of the hard disk.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\System” does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value “NoVirtMemPage” at both at HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry paths.

Now, right-click and modify their values to “1” which can disable the virtual memory feature. However, if you want to enable the button back, change the value data to “0” or delete the added values.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
