Restrict toolbar manipulation on Taskbar (For All Users).

This setting can disable adding, removing or moving the toolbars on the Taskbar.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

Normally, you can manipulate your Taskbar by adding or removing toolbars, or by moving the position of toolbars. But, on enabling this setting, you cannot manipulate toolbars from the Taskbar.

NoCloseDragDropBands:
It does not allow user to manipulate the existing toolbar. The toolbar can not be removed or added if this setting has been made enabled earlier. Even doesn’t allow the user to change the position of toolbars on Taskbar.

NoMovingBands:
This setting can lock the toolbar without applying a check mark on “Lock the Taskbar” option.

Now you can set the preferred setting as listed below.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\Explorer” does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create the DWORD values “NoCloseDragDropBands” and “NoMovingBands”, in the right panel.

Now, right-click and modify their value to “1” to change the Taskbar settings. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to “0” or delete the added values.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Changes are ristricted in the existing toolbars so no modifications like adding or removing toolbars can be done.

Changes can be made by default in the existing toolbars.

Locks the Taskbar even in case the option to lock is unchecked.

'Lock the Taskbar' option is in the default state.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\], key and create a new key with the name "Explorer" under "Policies".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoCloseDragDropBands " in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoCloseDragDropBands " and click on 'Modify'.

Enter the value User "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoMovingBands" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoMovingBands" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value User "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
