Change the default 'Windows Backup' to other backup utility

This setting enables you to change the default utility "Windows Backup" to some other backup utility of your choice.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

When you right-click a drive inside the Explorer, select "Properties" and switch to the "Tools" tab, Windows will display several commands you can execute on the current drive, Backup is one of them. The backup is a must for any user because there are many reasons to go for it. Backup is always stored at another location. By using this tweak you can call another backup utility instead of default Windows Backup.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Search for REG_EXPAND_SZ (Expandable String Value) value “Default”.

Now, right-click and set the data value with the path of your backup utility.

Log off or restart your system for the change to take effect.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

The default 'Windows Backup' is replaced to other backup utility.

The default 'Windows Backup Wizard' is visible.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\BackupPath\],right-click on "(Default)" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "Path Of The BackUp Utility" Without qotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
