Hide the File menu in Windows Explorer.

This setting permits you to hide the "File" menu in Windows Explorer.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

By default, the Explorer displays the "File" menu.This setting permits you to hide the "File" menu in Explorer.

For this go to "Start->Run" and enter "regedit" and search the keys listed below. You can create one DWORD value "NoFileMenu", if this value is not existing.

Now you can set this value to 1 for hiding the "File" menu in Windows Explorer. After a restart or log off the changes take effect.

Note:
In Windows Vista, this tweak will work only if "User Windows Classic Folders" setting in Folder Options is enabled.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

The "File" menu is hidden from the Windows Explorer after the changes have been made in the registry.

The "File" menu is visible in the Windows Explorer.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies \Explorer\],right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoFileMenu" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoFileMenu" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" (Base Hexadecimal) without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
