Set the thumbnail size in Windows explorer (for all users).

This setting enables you to specify the image size of the saved thumbnail images in Windows Explorer.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003

Description:

This setting enables you to specify the image size of the saved thumbnail images in Windows Explorer.

Windows stores in folder you visit with Windows Explorer thumbnail files automatically. A thumbnail file is a miniature of a normal picture. If you click on an image file in your Windows Explorer, Windows will show on the left side of Windows Explorer.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “ThumbnailSize”, if this value does not exist.

The hexadecimal value can have values between 32 and 256. If you choose 32 as value, you will get the smallest thumbnail picture and if you choose 256, you will get the biggest thumbnail picture.

Now, right-click and modify the value to your preferred size.

Default 'Thumbnail' size for Windows Explorer is visible.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\],right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "ThumbnailSize" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "ThumbnailSize" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "between 32 and 256" (Base Hexadecimal) without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
