Hide the extension for the Windows Task Scheduler Task Object (.JOB) files.

This setting enables you to hide the “.JOB” file extension. If you have a file for example “Work.job”, you can hide the extension that it looks like “Work”.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista
With this setting you can hide the extension of Windows Task Scheduler Task Object (.JOB) files. If you have a file for example “Work.job”, you can hide the extension that it looks like “Work”.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, create a String value “NeverShowExt”, if this value does not exist, and leave the data blank. This hides the extension for the file.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

NOTE:
To show extension of files in Windows 2000/XP/2003:
Open any folder > Go to “Tools” menu > View Tab > unselect the option “Hide extensions for known file types”.

To show extension of files in Windows Win 98/Me:
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Folder Options > View Tab > unselect the option “Hide extensions for known file types”.

Hide JOB file extension.reg

The ".reg" file can hide the extension of the .JOB files.

Show JOB file extension (Default).reg

The ".reg" file can show the extension of the .JOB files.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Next, go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\JobObject], right-click and click on 'New -> String Value' to create a new String Value with the name 'NeverShowExt'.

Finally, leave the data value blank.

Show the extension for the Scrap Object (.SHS) files.

Category : Display > Files & Folders

This setting enables you to show the “.SHS” files extension. If you have a file for example “Work”, you can show the extension that it looks like “Work.shs”.

Disallow the changes inside File Types in Windows Explorer to all users.

If you go to "Tools->Folder" Options in the Explorer and choose the tab "File Types", you can specify the default application for a particular file type. You can disable this feature.

Disallow the changes inside File Types in Windows Explorer to currently logged on user.

Disable caching of thumbnail views.

If you view Thumbnail pictures in the Explorer, Windows will save the view of all visited folders in a cache. You can disable the caching of Thumbnail pictures.

Hide the Hand holding the Shared Folders.

A shared folder appears in Windows Explorer as an icon of a hand holding the shared folder. You can hide the hand of this icon.
