Show other special folder in shared folders of a remote computer.

When you browse a remote computer on network, you normally see the folders shared on the computer, but to additionally see the “Scheduled Tasks” folder make changes to the registry settings.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

When you browse a remote computer on network, you normally see the folders shared on the computer, but to additionally see the “Scheduled Tasks” folder make changes to the registry settings.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path of “{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}” key listed at ordinal position 1. Now, copy the data value of “Default” string. Then, create the sub key “{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}” at the registry path of ordinal position 2, if it does not exists. Finally, paste the copied content to the other string value “Default” at the registry path of ordinal position 3.

However, if you do not need “Scheduled Tasks” special folders, you can simply delete “{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}” from [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace\].

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

The special folder "Scheduled Tasks" is visible.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}] key, right-click on the default String value and click on "Modify" to copy the data value.

Third, go to the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace\] key, right-click and click on "New > Key" to create a new key with the name "Local Machine".

Fourth, go to the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace\{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}] key, right-click on the "Default" String value and click on "Modify".

Finally, paste the copied value in the text box and click on 'OK'.
