Show special folder 2 in “My Computer”.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

Your “My Computer” folder displays all the drives configured on your system, including removable drives. This tweak is useful when you regularly access a folder and want to avoid subsequent clicks to access the folder. The new view can easily show your own special folder in the “My Computer” and let you access it at a single click.

For this do the following:

1)Create a key '{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}' in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\"

2)Create a key '{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}' in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\"

2.1)Update the data value of 'Default' with the folder name that you want to display.

2.2)Create a string value name 'InfoTip' and set the value you want to show as going with the mouse of the entry.

3) Create a key “DefaultIcon” in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}]

3.1) Update the data value of 'Default' with “shell32.dll,4”.

4) Create a key “InProcServer32” in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}]

4.1) Update the data value of “Default” with 'SHDocVw.dll'.

4.2) Create a string 'ThreadingModel' and set the value with 'Apartment'.

5) Create a key “Instance” in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}]

5.1) Update the data value of “Default” with blank.

5.2) Create a string “CLSID” and set the value with '{0AfACED1-E828-11D1-9187-B532F1E9575D}'.

5.3) Create a key “InitPropertyBag” in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}\Instance]

5.3.1) Update the data value of “Default” with blank.

5.3.2) Create a DWORD “Attributes” and set the value with '15 (In Hexadecimal Base)'.

5.3.3) Create an String “Target” and set the value with the path of the special folder.

6) Create a key 'ShellFolder' under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}].

6.1) Update the data value of “Default” with blank.

6.2) Create a DWORD "Attributes" and set the value with 'f8000110 (In Hexadecimal Base)

6.3) Create a string “WantsFORPARSING” and leave it blank.

After refreshing your system you can see the effects on your My Computer.

Special folder beside the common drives is being created.

No special folder beside the common drives is being created by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\], key and create a new key with the name "Internet "{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}" under "NameSpace".

Nothing make change leave key after create

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\], key and create a new key with the name "{53076C7E-A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}" under "CLSID".

Next, right-click on "(Default)" and click on 'Modify'.

Enter the value "User Defined Folder Name" without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{53076C7E-A813- 42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}\],right-click in the open area to create a String Value with the name "InfoTip" in "{53076C7E- A813-42D5-BCD9-1203684175B9}" key.

Next, right-click on "InfoTip" and click on 'Modify'.

enter the value "User Defined Tool Tip" Without qotation in the text box and click on 'OK'.
