Show the extension for the Scrap Object (.SHS) files.

This setting enables you to show the “.SHS” files extension. If you have a file for example “Work”, you can show the extension that it looks like “Work.shs”.

Windows has a default feature to hide the extension of Scrap Object (.SHS) files. With this setting you can revert the action by showing the extension of the file. If you have a file for example “Work”, you can show the extension that it looks like “Work.shs”.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, delete the String value “NeverShowExt” under “ShellScrap” key. This shows the extension for the file.

However, to hide the extension of “.SHS” files back, create the String value “NeverShowExt” and leave the data blank.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Show SHS file extension.reg

The ".reg" file can show the extension of the .SHS files.

The ".reg" file can hide the extension of the .SHS files.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Finally, go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\ShellScrap] key, right-click on the 'NeverShowExt' value and click on 'Delete'.

Hide the extension for the Windows Task Scheduler Task Object (.JOB) files.
