Cascading “Control Panel” items inside the Start menu (Current User).

This setting enables you to control the display of “Control Panel” either as cascade menu or as a folder link inside Start menu.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista
Cascade menu makes the items behave like menus with submenus instead of just opening the related folder. With this setting, you can make the “Control Panel” display its items in cascade menu rather than opening a folder link.

For this, go to Start > Run, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a String value “CascadeControlPanel”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “Yes” which can show “Control Panel” items as a cascade menu. However, if you want to show folder display back, change the value data to “No” or delete the value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

NOTE:
These settings will have no effect if you use the new (2-panel) display of the Start Menu in Windows.
