Disable “All Programs” link from new Start menu.

This setting can hide “All Programs” link from the new Start menu.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista
All programs list in new Start menu displays a list of all the installed programs. This setting can hide this option.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “NoStartMenuMorePrograms”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value data to “1” which can hide “All Programs” option. However, if you want to show the option back, change the value to “0” or delete the “NoStartMenuMorePrograms” value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Hiding All Programms link enabled.reg

The '.reg' file will remove 'All Programs' option from the Start menu.

Before Hiding All Programms link (Default).reg

The '.reg' file will display 'All Programs' option in the Start menu.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'All Programs' option is removed from the Start menu.

'All Programs' option is visible in the Start menu by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies \Explorer\],right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoStartMenuMorePrograms" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoStartMenuMorePrograms" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" (Base Hexadecimal) in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Hide username from new Start menu.

This setting can hide the presently logged in user’s name from the new Start menu.

Add item below Run option in the new Start menu.

This setting enables you to add items under Run option in the new Start menu.

Cascading “My Pictures” items inside the Start menu (All Users).

Cascading “Network Connections” items inside the Start menu (Current User).

Cascading “Control Panel” items inside the Start menu (All Users).
