This setting can show the “Favorites” menu item from the Start menu, if it is currently hidden.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista
“Favorites” is a menu in Internet Explorer that is used to store Web pages bookmarked by the user. The Web pages are saved to have a quick access at a later time. The “Favorites” menu can be accessed from Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer and Start menu.

Generally, the “Favorites” item does not appear on the Start menu. But, if you want to display it in your simple Start menu or Classic Start menu, you have this registry setting.

For this, go to Start > Run, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “StartMenuFavorites”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can show the “Favorites” folder in the Start menu. However, if you want to hide the folder back, change the value to “0”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
