Hide the Log off item from the Start Menu (For Current User).

This setting is used to hide the Log off item from the Start Menu.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista

Description:

By using this tweak you are able to hide the Log off item from the Start Menu.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter "regedit" and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value "StartMenuLogoff", if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to "1" for hiding Log off item. However, if you want to get back to the original state and show Log off item in the Start Menu, change the value to "0".

The changes take effect after a restart or log off.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Log Off' option is disabled from the Start menu.

'Log Off' option is enabled by default in the Start menu.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\] , right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "StartMenuLogoff" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "StartMenuLogoff" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value User "1" without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'.
