Oblige the logoff button in the Start menu (For All Users).

This setting enables you to oblige Windows to show the logoff button in the start menu and it disallows to remove this button.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista
This setting enables you to oblige Windows to show the logoff button in the start menu and it disallows to remove this button.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\Explorer” does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a Dword value “ForceStartMenuLogoff” in the right panel.

Now, right-click and modify its value to “1” which can oblige the logoff button. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Hide Display Logoff from startmenu properties.reg

The '.reg' file can hide "Display Logoff" from Start menu properties.

Show Display Logoff from startmenu properties (Default).reg

The '.reg' file can show "Display Logoff" from Start menu properties.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Log Off' option is forced to appear on the Start menu.

'Log Off' option is selective to appear on the Start menu by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\], key and create a new key with the name "Explorer" under "Policies".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] , right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "ForceStartMenuLogoff" in "explore" key.

Next, right-click on "ForceStartMenuLogoff" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Remove the “Favorites” menu item from the Start menu (For Current User).

This setting can remove the “Favorites” menu item from the Start menu, if it is currently shown.
