Remove “Help and Support” item from the Start menu (For All Users).

This setting enables you to hide the “Help and Support” item in the Start menu.

“Help and Support” educates you on the programs Windows operating system contains, including systems, accessories, and communications and entertainment programs. You can take a windows tour and read articles containing full descriptions for performing key tasks from start to finish. This setting enables you to remove the item from the Start menu.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\Explorer” does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a Dword value “NoSMHelp” in the right panel.

Now, right-click and modify its value to “1” which can remove “Help and Support” item. However, if you want to show the item back, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Help and Suport' option is hidden from the Start menu.

'Help and Suport' option is visble by default in the Start menu.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\], key and create a new key with the name "Explorer" under "Policies".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoSMHelp" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoSMHelp" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Remove “Search” item from the Start menu (For All Users).
