Remove “Help and Support” item from the Start menu (For Current User).

This setting enables you to hide the “Help and Support” item in the Start menu.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista
“Help and Support” educates you on the programs Windows operating system contains, including systems, accessories, and communications and entertainment programs. You can take a windows tour and read articles containing full descriptions for performing key tasks from start to finish. This setting enables you to remove the item from the Start menu.

For this, go to Start > Run, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “NoSMHelp”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can remove turn off item from the Start menu. However, if you want to remove the option, change the value to “0” or delete the value “NoSMHelp”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Help and Suport' option is hidden from the Start menu.

'Help and Suport' option is visble by default in the Start menu.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\], right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoSMHelp" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoSMHelp" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Hide user-created folders in the Start menu.
