Remove “Search” item from the Start menu (For All Users).

This setting enables you to hide the “Search” item in the Start menu.

“Search” option lets you to look for stored documents and files & folders, computers on the network, people in address book, websites and permits to work through them. This setting enables you to remove the item from the Start menu.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\Explorer” does not exist, create it as explained below. Then, create a Dword value “NoFind” in the right panel.

Now, right-click and modify its value to “1” which can remove “Search” item. However, if you want to show the item back, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Search' option is hidden from the Start menu.

'Search' option is visible by default in the Start menu.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\], key and create a new key with the name "Explorer" under "Policies".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoFind" in "Explorer" key.

Next, right-click on "NoFind" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
