Show the “Services” item in My Computers' context menu.

You can show “Services” item in the context menu that pops up when right clicking the My Computer icon.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

In general, “Services” item can be seen in the My Computer right-click menu on the Desktop and in Windows Explorer. “Services” item will open up the Windows services section, through which you can start, stop or configure various system services. If this option is not visible in your My Computer right-click menu or is accidentally deleted from there, you can display this item using this setting.

For this, go to Start > Run, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Make a new subkey under “Shell” key by name “Services” and change its default string value to the same name, “Services”. Then, create a subkey “Command” under “Services”, and change its default string value to “C:\Windows\system32\mmc.exe /s C:\Windows\system32\services.msc /s” (where C:\ is the default drive).

The changes will take effect after a restart or logoff.

NOTE:
When you use the “/s” flag, Registry Editor suppresses all messages, including indications of failed registrations.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

"Services" item in 'My Computer' right-click menu is added, which can call Windows services.

"Services" item in 'My Computer' right-click menu is not present.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\] and create a new key "Services".

Third, right-click on "Default" and select 'Modify'.

Set the Value Data as “Services”in the textbox provided and click on 'OK'.

Now, create another sub key under "Services" as "command".

Further, right-click on "Default" and select 'Modify'.

Set the Value Data as “C:\Windows\system32\mmc.exe /s C:\Windows\system32\services.msc /s” (where C: is your default drive)in the textbox provided and click on 'OK'.
