The color of the item is displayed in hot tracking color if the mouse is hovered over an item of Windows Explorer tree. RGB color combination is put in hot tracking color to change the color.
For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “EncryptionContextMenu” in the right panel, if this value does not exist.
Now, right-click and modify the String value “HotTrackingColor” to desired color code which can change the color of hot tracking item. However, if you want to show the original color back, change the value data to “0 0 128”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
NOTE:This tweak can be applied in Windows 98 and Windows Me only if Active Desktop is enabled.
