Clear the “Containing Text” qualifiers list you used while searching a file/folder.

This setting allows you to delete the “Containing Text” qualifiers list you used with the search arguments at the time of searching a file/folder.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

Windows saves all the search arguments and the “Containing Text” qualifiers that you used while searching for your documents. The history of search arguments and text qualifiers are saved in the Files in most recently used list.

This setting enables you to clear the complete history of all the text qualifiers that you used while searching for a file/folder. This can be done through some settings in the Windows registry.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. When in “ContainingTextMRU” folder, select all the values in the right-pane and press delete. It will delete complete history of text qualifiers you used.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

The text qualifiers used with previous search arguments are deleted.

The history of text qualifiers used with previous searches are existing.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Next, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer Bars\{C4EE31F3-4768-11D2-BE5C-00A0C9A83DA1}\ContainingTextMRU\] key and select the values 000, 001 and so on, right-click and click on "Delete".
