Display “New” option in context menu in Windows Explorer or on Desktop.

This setting enables you to display new option in the context menu in Windows Explorer or desktop.

Description:

This setting enables you to control the display of "New" option in context menu. Through this option, you can create a new document in the folder, send an e-mail, create a new folder, etc. This “New” option can be disabled with this setting.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the value data of the “Default” String value to “-D969A300-E7FF-11d0-A93B-00A0C90F2719” i.e. add the hyphen sign (-) before the value, which can the “New” option. However, if you want to show the option back, remove the hyphen sign (-).

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Default options in the context menu are visible.

"New" option appears in the context menu is hidden.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\New\], in the open area right-click on "(Default)" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "{-D969A300-E7FF-11d0-A93B-00A0C90F2719}" without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
