First, click the 'Start' button and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Second, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\], right-click in the open area and create a new DWORD value "NoRecentDocsHistory".
Third, right-click on the "NoRecentDocsHistory" DWORD value and click on "Modify".
Finally, enter the value "1" in the 'Value Data' field and click on 'OK'.
