Prevent the display of Control Panel, Printers, and Network Connections on Settings menu (For Current user).

This tweak lets you remove vital items from Settings on the Start menu and also from My Computer and Windows Explorer.

This tweak lets you remove Control Panel, Printers and Faxes and Network Connection icons from Settings on the Start menu and also from My Computer and Windows Explorer. This tweak may also disable the shortcut keys (Windows + E) to run Windows Explorer.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “NoSetFolders” in the right panel, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify its value to “1” which can prevent display of the icons. However, if you want to show the icons back, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

The "Control Panel", "Network Connections" and "Printers and Faxes" options are not visible in the "Start Menu > Settings" after the changes have been made in the registry.

The "Control Panel", "Network Connections" and "Printers and Faxes" options are visible in the "Start Menu > Settings".

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\] key, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "NoSetFolders".

Third, right-click on the 'NoSetFolders' DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
