Show menu hot keys.

This setting can let you to show hot keys on menu items.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista

Description:

Keyboard shortcuts make it simpler for the users to interact with Windows and other applications. For people who are keyboard junkies prefer to interact with applications, say accessing options or menu items, using keyboard shortcuts. Keyboard shortcuts are combination of two or more keystrokes that can performs a task, which alternatively requires a mouse or other pointing device.

Usually, hotkeys are characters in menu items that do have an underline. So, hot keys can be accessed by pressing ALT + underlined key, which will have the same effect as clicking the menu item using a pointing device.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the Binary value “UserPreferencesMask”, in the right panel to “B0 3E 05 80”. However, if you want to hide the hot keys back, change the value data to “90 3e 05 80”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Underline visible under menu shortcuts.

No underline marks under menu shortcuts.

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit"

Second, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\UserPreferencesMask] and right-click on "UserPreferencesMask" and select 'Modify'.

Finally change the Binary Value to "B0 3E 05 80" and click 'OK'.
