Detecting accidental mouse double-clicks.

This setting can automatically control accidental double mouse clicks in Explorer.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista
Accidental mouse double-clicks can be tracked with the Explorer, so that it doesn't start unwanted effects.

The effect of this key is apparent if the Explorer is in single-click mode. In this mode, files and folders can be accessed with a single-click; however, if the user accidentally double-clicks a document, it opens-up two instances of the document. Disabling the key would force Explorer to treat double-click as a single-click and restrict the launch of the document twice.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value name “UseDoubleClickTimer”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can disable accidental mouse double-clicks. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to “0”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Detecting accidental mouse double-clicks.reg

The '.reg' file will detect accidental mouse double-clicks.

No detection of accidental mouse double-clicks(default).reg
