Disable Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

This tweak lets you disable Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) service.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is designed to reduce the administration burden and complexity of configuring hosts on a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)-based network, such as a private intranet. It defines the use of DHCP servers as a way to manage dynamic allocation of IP addresses and other related configuration details for DHCP-enabled clients on your network. It supports automatic detection of browser settings.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the Dword value “EnableDHCP”, in the right panel, to “0” which can disable DHCP. However, if you want to enable the feature back, change the value data to “1”.

Refresh view of your computer for the changes to take effect.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is disabled.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is enabled.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.

Next, go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{interface-name}\] , right click on the DWORD value 'EnableDHCP' and select 'Modify.

Finally set the value data as '0' and click 'OK'.
