Hide the Search option “For Files or Folders” in Start menu.

This setting can hide the option "For Files or Folders" from the Search item in the Start menu.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

This setting can hide the option "For Files or Folders" from the Search item in the Start Menu. Files and Folders option can be used to look for files/folders containing important information, data and program files, music albums, images and many other information.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, rename the key to “0x” which can hide the “For Files or Folders” in Start menu. However, if you want to show the option back, change the value to “0”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

NOTE:
This setting works with Classic Start menu style and applies to all user accounts created on your system.

The option "For Files or Folders" is visible in the Search option in the Start menu.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Finally, go to the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\FindExtensions\Static\ShellSearch\0] key, right-click to rename it to "0x".
