Replace background image of Windows Messenger.

You can change Windows Messenger background image with this setting.

Description:

Windows Messenger is an instant messaging program that helps you to have online conversations with your friends, colleagues and family. You can also have voice and video conversations apart from text conversations as well as send files and photos to your contacts.

With this setting you can replace the watermark image of Windows Messenger with the one of your choice.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, double-click on the String value “InstallationDirectory” to copy the contents of the Value data field from the dialog.

In the second step, open your Windows Explorer and paste the Windows Messenger folder path in the address bar. Subsequently rename the filename “lvback.gif” to “lvback-old.gif”. Then, copy and paste the desired .GIF file in this folder to replace the existing logo of Windows Messenger and name it to “lvback.gif”. Windows Messenger will have a new background image.

However, if you want to the default look of the Windows Messenger, delete the new “lvback.gif” file and rename the default file “lvback-old.gif” to “lvback.gif”.

Refresh view of your computer for the changes to take effect.

NOTE:
The new background image should be of size 160x140 pixels.

Original image of 'Windows Messenger' is replaced with a new image.

Default image for 'Windows Messenger' is visible.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MessengerService\], in the open area right-click on "InstallationDirectory" and click on 'Modify'.

Copy the path from Value Data and paste the path in Windows Explorer address bar.
