Empty temporary Internet files on exiting Internet Explorer.

By using this tweak you can control whether Internet Explorer should delete all of the temporary Internet files stored during the session when the browser is closed.

Description:

By using this tweak you can control whether Internet Explorer should delete all of the temporary Internet files stored during the session when the browser is closed.

If you want to make changes just for current user, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “Persistent”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “0” to delete all the temporary Internet files stored on your computer when the browser is closed. However, if you want to leave these files, change the value to “1”.

However, if you want to make changes for all users, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry path listed below. You can create a Binary value “Persistent”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “00 00 00 00” to delete all the temporary Internet files stored on your computer when the browser is closed. However, if you want to leave these files, change the value to “01 00 00 00”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Stored ‘Temporary Internet Files’ are removed.

Stored ‘Temporary Internet Files’ are present by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache\],right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "Persistent" in "Cache" key.

Next, right-click on "Persistent" and click on 'Modify'.

Enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

In order to make changes to all users accounts, goto [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache\], right-click on "Persistent" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "01 00 00 00" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
