Disable Internet access on proxy settings.

This setting restricts changes to proxy settings in the Connections tab of Internet Option dialog in Internet Explorer.

Description:

Proxy settings are used to connect to the Internet when you work on a network. The proxy clients share a distributed Internet connection from a single server. Proxy servers store a local copy of previously retrieved documents such that the remote server need not be contacted by proxy clients to retrieve the same document again. Proxy servers may also be configured to allow access to the Internet through a firewall and virus protection guard.

This registry setting lets you to disable manually configuring proxy settings in the Connections tab of Internet Option dialog in Internet Explorer.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the DWORD value “ProxyEnable”, in the right panel, to “0” and the string value “ProxyServer” to an IP address and port which are invalid on your network, such as 127.0.0.1:80.

Restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Access to Internet using proxy settings is disabled.

Access to Internet using proxy settings is enabled by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\] , right-click on "ProxyEnable" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value User "0" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\], right-click on "ProxyServer" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the invalid IP and Port addresses in the text box and click on 'OK'.
