Disable automatically installing Web components.

This tweak lets you to automatically install Web components to display the page properly.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

Internet Explorer lets you install Web components by self-installing programs. It automatically downloads and installs components if a Web page needs them in order to display the page properly or perform a particular task. But, to avoid automatic installation, you can make the below changes in the regsitry.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the Dword value “NoWebJITSetup”, in the right panel, to “no” which can disable auto download of Web components. However, if you want to revert to the original state, change the value data to “0”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Option to automatically installing Web components is disabled.

Option to automatically installing Web components is enabled by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.

Next, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\] and right click on the DWORD value 'NoWebJITSetup' and select 'Modify'.

Finally set the value data as '1' and click 'OK'.
