Disable changes to Security Certificates

This setting prevents you from making changes to Security Certificates in Content tab of Internet Options.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

The certificates are used to identify you, authorities, publishers and to verify the contents offered in the websites. These certificates have full information about their owners. With this tweak, you can prevent changes made to Security Certificates.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below after creating the subkey, “\Control Panel\”, if it does not exist. Then, create a DWORD value name “Certificates” in the right panel. Now, right-click on it and modify the data value with “1” to restrict changes. However, if you want enable the option back, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

After restart of Internet Explorer, the changes take effect.

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit"

Second, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\] and create a new key "Internet Explorer"

Third, create a subkey "Control Panel" under "Internet Explorer".

Fourth, create a DWORD value "Certificates".

Now,right-click on "Certificates" and select 'Modify'

Finally, set the value data to “1” in the textbox provided and click on 'OK'.
