Disable context menu in Internet Explorer web pages.

Some features and behaviors of Internet Explorer can be controlled by the user. One of them is to disable the context menu which appears in Internet Explorer web pages.

You can control some features and behaviors of Internet Explorer. If you press the right mouse button in Internet Explorer, the context menu appears. You can disable the feature with this setting.

Important:
Even if you enable context menu on web pages, all the open Internet Explorer windows will not show this menu.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “NoBrowserContextMenu” at HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry paths, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which disables the context menu option in Internet Explorer web pages. However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to “0”.

Restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect.

NOTE:
This feature works on Internet Explorer version 5 and above.

The ".reg" file can disable the context menu of the 'Internet Explorer' web page.

Enable Context Menu in Internet Explorer (Default).reg

The ".reg" file can enable context menu in 'Internet Explorer'.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\] key and create a new key with the name "Internet Explorer" under "Microsoft".

Then, create a "Restrictions" key under "Internet Explorer".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoBrowserContextMenu" in "Restrictions" key.

The created DWORD value will look like below.

Next, right-click on "NoBrowserContextMenu" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done, follow the above steps to create similar registry keys and DWORD value at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\].

Block “Internet Options” dialog in Internet Explorer.
