Disable install-on-demand for Internet Explorer

This setting disables you to install Microsoft approved add-ons to have better display of web page.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000
The install-on-demand makes Internet Explorer to ask whether you want to install Microsoft components or Microsoft approved third party components for better view of web page. This option can be disabled also.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below , if they are not existing. Now, create a DWORD value name “NoJITSetup” in the right panel, if it does not exist. Right-click it and modify the data value with “1” to enable the setting and “0” to disable it.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

Restart the system or logoff to see the changes taking effect.

The '.reg' file will disable install-on-demand for Internet Explorer.

Enable install-on-demand for Internet Explorer (default).reg

The '.reg' file will enable install-on-demand for Internet Explorer.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

‘Install-on-demand’ for Internet Explorer is disabled.

‘Install-on-demand’ for Internet Explorer is enabled by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\] key, right-click on the "NoJITSetup" DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Disable the expanding of the menu item “New” in Internet Explorer (For Current User).
