Disable signature verification of downloaded programs.

This setting enable check for signatures on downloaded programs.

Description:

Internet Explorer checks for the digital signatures on the executable programs and the display of their identities before they are allowed to download. This is required because the user may download a program without realizing the dangers lying behind it.

To avoid continual signature verification on downloading programs, use this registry setting.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify String value “CheckExeSignatures”, in the right panel, to “Yes” which can disable signature verification. However, if you want to revert to the original state, change the value data to “No”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Option to ‘Check for Signatures on Download programs’ is disabled.

Option to ‘Check for Signatures on Download programs’ is enabled by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.

Now, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Download\] and right click on the String value 'CheckExeSignatures ' and select 'Modify'.

Finally set the value data as 'no' to disable 'Check for Signatures on Download programs’ and select 'OK'.
