In Internet Explorer, if you go to File > New, the menu item will expand to show options like New Window, Message, Post, Contact and Internet Call. This setting can remove all the sub-menu options and can show only the option “New Window” in main menu.

For this, go to Start > Run, enter "regedit" and navigate to the key listed below. You can create a DWORD value "NoExpandedNewMenu", if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can disable expanding of the menu item "New". However, if you want to get back to the original state, change the value to “0”.

The changes will take effect after a restart or logoff.
