Disable the option to reset the default Internet Explorer settings.

This setting disables the option to reset the default Internet Explorer settings for you home and search pages.

You have the option to reset the default Internet Explorer settings for your home and search pages. This option resets Internet Explorer to default settings only if you have installed another Web browser, and that browser has changed the default settings.

With this registry setting you can disable the option to reset default settings of Internet Explorer.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the sub keys “Internet Explorer\Control Panel” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value “Reset Web Settings”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can disable the option to reset default settings. However, if you want to enable the option back, change the value data to “0” or delete the value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\], key and create a new key with the name "Internet Explorer" under "Microsoft".

Then, create a "Control Panel" key under "Internet Explorer".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "ResetWebSettings" in "Control Panel" key.

Next, right-click on "ResetWebSettings" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value User "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
