Hide Help menu items in Internet Explorer.

You can hide the Help menu items in the Internet Explorer with this setting.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

If you require some help in Internet Explorer, you go to the Help menu. It provides all round help with Windows system, look for specific problems etc. You can also hide all the items in Help menu, if it suits you, with this setting.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry path listed below. If any of the subkeys “Internet Explorer\Restrictions” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value “NoHelpMenu”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can hide Help menu items in Internet Explorer. However, if you want to show the items back, change the value to “0”.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Help' menu items are hidden from in Internet Explorer.

'Help' menu is visible by default in Internet Explorer.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\] key and create a new key with the name "Internet Explorer" under "Microsoft".

Then, create a "Restrictions" key under "Internet Explorer".

Now, right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "NoHelpMenu" in "Restrictions" key.

Next, right-click on "NoHelpMenu" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done, follow the above steps to create similar registry keys and DWORD value at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\].
