Prevent changes to Contacts List

This setting prevents you from making changes to Calender and Contacts List in Programs tab of Internet Options.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

Calendar and Contacts List information come in Microsoft Outlook. It contains your engagements, timings & dates and also important information about persons in your contact. You can prevent the user to make any changes in existing Calendar and Contacts List option in Programs tab.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, create a DWORD value name “CalendarContact” in the right panel, if it does not exist. Right-click on it and modify the data value with “1” to prevent changes. However, if you want enable the option back, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

Restart Internet Explorer to see the changes.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Changes to Calendar and Contacts List is disabled.

Changes to Calendar and Contacts List is enabled.

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit"

Second, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\] and create a new key "Internet Explorer"

Third, create a subkey "Control Panel" under "Internet Explorer".

Fourth, create a DWORD value "CalendarContact".

Now,right-click on "CalendarContact" and select 'Modify'

Finally, set the value data to “1” in the textbox provided and click on 'OK'.
