Prevent changes to privacy settings in “Privacy” tab in Internet Explorer.

This setting enables you to prevent changes to privacy settings in “Privacy” tab of Internet Options in Internet Explorer.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista
You can choose how cookies are handled in the Internet zone either by allowing or overriding automatic cookie handling.

By applying this registry setting you can disable the option to manage cookies

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If any of the sub keys “Internet Explorer\Control Panel” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value “Privacy Settings”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can disable the option to handle cookies. However, if you want to enable the option back, change the value data to “0” or delete the value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Disable Change in Privacy Settings.reg

The '.reg' file will disable changes to privacy settings in privacy tab in Internet Options .

The '.reg' file will enable changes to privacy settings in privacy tab in Internet Options .

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Cookie handling options in the 'Advance Privacy Settings' window are restricted.

Cookie handling options in the 'Advance Privacy Settings' window are enabled by default.

First, click the Start button, and select Run. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\] and create a new key "Internet Explorer".

Third, create a subkey "Control Panel" under "Internet Explorer".

Fourth, create a DWORD value "Privacy Settings".

Now,right-click on "Privacy Settings" and select 'Modify'

Finally, set the 'Value Data' to “1”in the textbox provided and click on 'OK'.

Remove Internet Explorer Cache/Temporary Internet Files.

This setting enables you to clear the entire Internet Explorer Cache (Temporary Internet Files).

Remove Cookies from Internet Explorer.

Remove Internet Explorer Typed URL History.

When you type any URL/website address in the address bar of Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer will cache this URL in the folder "Temporary Internet Files". This setting enables you to remove the cache of Internet Explorer.

Prevent adding Web sites in security zones of Internet Explorer.

This setting prohibits you from adding Web sites either in “Trusted Sites” or “Restricted Sites” list in the “Security” tab of Internet Options dialog box in Internet Explorer.

Disable auto complete for forms in “Content” tab in Internet Explorer.
