By using this tweak you can remove the integration of Windows Messenger into Internet Explorer. It will remove both the toolbar icon and Tools menu item.

Description:

By using this tweak you can remove the integration of Windows Messenger into Internet Explorer. It will remove both the toolbar icon and Tools menu item.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click to rename the key “{FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683}” with a hyphen(-) sign preceding it. The key will look as “-{FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683}”. However, if you want to get back to the original state, remove minus symbol.

Restart your system for the change to take effect.

‘Windows Messenger’ is visible by default in the ‘Internet Explorer Tools menu’.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\],right-click on the key "{FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683}" and click on 'Rename' with a hyphen(-) mark before the key name.
