Remove password caching in Internet Explorer.

This setting removes the option to save password while connecting to Internet or to a website that requires username and password to login.

Description:

This becomes useful when you are asked to fill up your user name and password to access the Internet. Normally, the dialog box that needs username and password to access a website also has the option to save password. Password saving or caching will automatically fill password corresponding to the username to avoid retyping.

To avoid Internet Explorer form saving the password, you can use this registry setting.

For this, go to Start > Run, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “DisablePasswordCaching”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can remove the option to save password. However, if you want to show the option again, change the value data to “0” or delete the value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Password caching in Internet Explorer is disabled.

Password caching in Internet Explorer is enabled by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\],right-click in the open area to create a DWORD Value with the name "DisablePasswordCaching" in "Internet Settings" key.

Next, right-click on "DisablePasswordCaching" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
