Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.
First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Second, go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\] and create a 'DWORD value' as "Update_Check_Interval".
Now, right-click on "Update_Check_Interval" and select 'Modify'.
Finally, set the 'Value Data' as a decimal value, say "180", to look for updates after 180 days.
