Change places bar icons size in MS Office 2003

This setting lets you change places bar icons size small.

Tweak for : Windows 2003, Windows Vista

Description:

The places bar is the left pane in the Save As dialog box, for example, where you will find icons, which you get on desktop. The default icon size for the Microsoft Office places bar is large.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\11.0\Common\Open Find\Places” is not present, create it as explained below. Now, create DWORD value name “ItemSize”, if this value does not exist and modify the data value to “1” for small icon and “0” for default setting (large icon).

Click OK to close the registry.

Icon sizes are changed to smaller for ‘Change places bar icons’.

Default icon sizes are visible for ‘Change places bar icons’.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0 \Common\Open Find\Places\], in the open area right-click on "ItemSize" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "1" (Base Hexadecimal) without quotation in the text box and click on 'OK'. Once you are done. After a restart or logoff, the changes take effect.
