Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.
The recent file list in the "File" is removed after the changes have been made in the registry.
The recent file list is visible in the "File" menu.
First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".
Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Excel\Recent Files\] key, right-click on the "File[1..N]" keys as shown in the picture and click on "Delete".
