Enable default font style strike-through

This setting lets you enable the font style of the text as strike-through.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

Notepad is a tool, which every computer user finds easy to use. It is required to read and write text for notes, e-mails, batch files etc. It does not automatically line-wrap text at the right margin.

If you want the text strike-through in Notepad, it can be done through some settings in the registry.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\Notepad” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create DWORD value name “IfStrikeOut”, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and make the value data “1” to enable the setting.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

Restart the system.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

The default text appears as "Strikethrough" in "Notepad" after the changes have been made in the registry.

The default text appears normal in "Notepad".

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Notepad] key, right-click in the right pane and click on "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "lfStrikeOut".

Third, right-click on the 'lfStrikeOut' DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
