Customize Pop-Up Error Messages.

If an error in Windows occurs, you can specify with this setting what Windows should do.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista

Description:

In the normal case, Windows will show any kind of error messages in a pop-up window. This setting enables you to specify which error messages you like to see.

You can use following options like listed below for the value of “ErrorMode”:

0 --> Windows will show all errors in pop-up windows(default value)
1 --> Windows won’t show system errors, but it will show application errors in pop-up windows
2 --> Windows won’t show any errors

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “ErrorMode”, if this value does not exist.

Now you can set this value to disable errror messages completely or partly. After a restart the changes take effect.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Selective Pop-up message is visible.

No Pop-up error message is displayed.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type 'regedit'.

Second, go to the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\] key, right-click on the "ErrorMode" DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" or "0" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
