Hide Back button inside dialog

This tweak lets you hide Back button inside dialog.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

In any Windows application, Open dialog permits you to go to My Recent Documents, Desktop, My Documents and My computer in Places Bar. The back button lets you go to previous folder. But this setting lets you remove the new features of Windows 2000 professional.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the first registry path listed below. If the subkey “\CurrentVersion\Policies\Comdlg32\” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a DWORD value name “NoBackButton”, if this value does not exist. Now, right-click and modify the value data box with “1” to enable the setting and “0” to display it.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

After logoff or system restart, changes take effect.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Back button inside dialog is removed.

Back button inside dialog is visible by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\] key, right-click and click on "New > Key" to create a new key with the name "Comdlg32".

Third, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "NoBackButton".

Fourth, right-click on the 'NoBackButton' DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
