Enable quick editing on Command Prompt (For Current User).

This tweak lets you use the quick editing features in Command Prompt.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000

Description:

You have the facility to cut/copy and paste the text on Command Prompt window. Simply, right click to select the options. By default, you can only use the Edit menu option, whereas after enabling the registry changes you can either use mouse or Edit menu to apply the options.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “QuickEdit” in the right panel, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify its value to “1” which can enable quick editing. However, if you want to revert to original options, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console\] key, right-click on the right pane and click on "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "QuickEdit".

Third, right-click on the 'QuickEdit' DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.
